'tis the season...

 We love to camp.
Where we live in the great midwest, well...it's that time of year again to break out ye 'ole popup.
So I thought I'd post a few pictures of Nate camping, just in case you're new in these here parts,
and you think that maybe having a kid with Ds is gonna keep you from having "normal" family fun.
It won't.
Cuz ya see...Nate loves roasted marshmallows.
He gets his fingers all in it like any other kid.
He wipes his tongue all over his face to get all the gooey parts, just like any other 3 year old I've ever known.
He especially likes it when someone like his big sister roasts them for him.

He hangs out at the campfire just like the rest of us, eating junk food and asking non-stop to go for walks, to go the bathroom, for kisses, etc.
This is his new "camp cup" with an attached swirly straw that he thinks is totally awesome.
So yeah, we have a kid with Ds.
We have kids without Ds.
We live life just like everybody else.
We do not believe we are special people, or hand-picked by God to have a guardian angel live with us, we don't think we are any different in God's eyes than anyone else.
We just said yes.
And the grace and the courage that previously was not there, was suddenly there... waiting.

Live is sooo good.

  1. You bet life is good! I will miss you guys at church this weekend - I'm going to Glee with Kim and Kristin in Chicago. Wish you were coming but I know you're not the biggest fan of Glee (and tix were over $100! Have to be a real "Gleek" to pay that!!). Love and miss you!
