Wonderfully Naughty

I like to have a really clean house, but I find that with 4 kids, 2 dogs and a full-time job, that is very hard to accomplish as often as I'd like. Frusterating? Yes. For me, sometimes I get frusterated that my house is in a perpetual state of 'lived in' whereas I'd prefer it to look like a showcase home.
(what's wrong with everything having a place? Does the word "junk drawer" make anyone else cringe? Kinda like asking an accountant how they feel about the word, "petty cash" ...haha!)

My biggest angst is the dogs. Lovely as they are, they shed, they have accidents, they run off to who know where? they bark, whine, lick my face (which I loath) and beg.

And then Maddie and I watched Marley and Me together the other day. Aw. I've seen it before, but it's been awhile. I had forgotten how naughty Marley was! I had forgotten how much they loved him in spite of his naughtiness. I was reminded that dogs will be dogs no matter what. I have to admit it gave me a new appreciation for my dogs...and a bit of a relief that I'm not the only person in the world who loves a (sometimes) naughty dog. I really do love the way they hang out with us all, like they did last night while we all lounged around watching the Bucks on TV. I was trying to read my new magazine at one point, and you can see how far I got with that....
I think they missed me while I was gone to Nashville. I think they love me because I feed them and for no other reason than that.
I think I'll take it.
