Weekend to Remember

Let me ask you something; Do you think you could have taught yourself how to drive without ever taking Driver's Ed? hmmm...probably. I mean, you've seen your mom and dad do it a hundred times. It would probably be scary at first, but you could have sat in the driver's seat, gotten up the nerve to turn the key, and with lots of lurches and snubs....you could have eventually made it out of the driveway and onto the road. And after years and years of driving, I think you could get where you needed to go....but not with confidence and peace of mind. Because dang it all....there's those unspoken rules of the road that you wouldn't know; like....who has the right of way? How does that merging lane really work? Speed up? Slow down? If approaching a light and it turns from green to yellow, what should I do? Speed up? Slow down? Why do some roads have one line, some have two and others have lines and dashes? What's with the signs that have no words on them, just symbols? I mean what the heck, right? These are the things we have to know before we are allowed to get a driver's license. I think before people get a marriage license, they should attend a Weekend to Remember! Because after all.....you don't get to attend "Marriage Ed" before you get your marriage license, and you could spend your entire married life with little confidence or peace of mind about what direction you're heading, and how you're getting there. You should really go. www.familylife.com/groups/family1st.

ps....thanks Keely for letting Natie have a sleep-over while we attended the conference!!

  1. Glad you had a good weekend. I've heard these are good. Hopefully someday we'll be able to swing it. I don't think we can ever invest too much in our marriages!
