our youngest baby son born October 20, 2007 and diagnosed with Trisomy 21 a week later. He is the source of never-ending rivers of joy. I heard someone say on Christian radio recently that people who have special needs children will tell you that the day that child came into their lives, joy came into the home. I couldn't have said it better myself. Was his diagnosis easy? No...and was there great anxiety? Yes...but there is no doubt about it that God was nearer than ever before. Jars of Clay have written "The Valley Song" from where the title of this blog comes from. There are no truer words to describe the journey from week 20 of my pregnancy to the birth of our precious child..."I will sing of Your Mercies that lead me through valleys of sorrow...to rivers of joy."

- My name is Jill Kocian. I'm the happy mom of four great kids...feel really blessed to be the wife of James and honored to be a child of God. I work in real estate during the day, but my heart is in the home doing things for my family and creating an atmosphere of good cooking, creative decorating, learning and growing together and fun times. We love to snow ski, play dinner-time games around the table, have friends over and fellowship with our church family. My husband and I enjoy reading, playing Scrabble, and watching 24. We love to camp, ski, sing, work hard and have fun.

i have the great pleasure of hearing compliments about him all the time. What mom wouldn't want to hear that about her teenager? Our oldest child...Andrew is funny, smart and best of all...he's kind-hearted. Andrew is 14.

our beautiful drama diva! She is our eldest daughter and fills our home with song, dance...the wonderful sound of flute and a never-ending supply of one-liners! Hannah is 12.

with a wit that defies her age, our charming daughter amuses us daily with her sense of humor! She is an excellent student, a real pleaser, and a lovely little lady. Maddie is 8.
