Theology and Ds

Ok, so I am attempting to read this book, and I would be lying if I said I understood it all. I'm no theologian, but the topic interests me a lot, and I find myself most comfortable in conversations pertaining to human nature, birth order, psychology and the like (although I understand psychology a bit more than theology!)
So I get through a few pages each night before my brain starts smoking...but even if I don't get everything, some sentences jump off the page at me, like this one;
"...it is precisely through lifting up and making known the voices and experiences of people with intellectual and physical disabilities that I hope to effect transformation in the church, and through that, in society as a whole."
And I consider Tony and I think, "yeah, Tony gets it."
Check out Tony's blog to the left of this post...and scroll down a bit to the Camp Daniel link,
and you'll get it, too!

  2. I read Tony's blog today along with yours and I find that I must guard against finding comfort in words like "church" and "society". When I read those words, I really need to read "Jerry". Since I am a part of the church and society, I need to read these truths very personally. God speaks clearly; am I effectively listening? I want to. Thanks Jill.

  3. I, too, started reading the book when John Michael was about 6 months old. After a while, it was too heavy for my tired brain. I tend to only read at night just before bed. It's an excellent topic, one in which I have much interest myself. I love the cover art.
