Freud'ian slip'

Just say it; it was terrible.  Even if you voted for him. It was terrible.

Let's not make excuses for it and call it something other than what it was.

It was not a slip of the tongue, it was not a gaffe, error of judgement, blooper, blunder or faux pas.

Freudian slip n.

A verbal mistake that is thought to reveal an unconscious belief, thought, or emotion... it is motivated by and reveals some unconscious aspect of the mind.

Nobody makes fun of the disabled by mistake.

A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.Luke 6:45 (NKJ)

  1. Thankyou...there have been to few posts anywhere expressing the truth in this. When someone says He is sorry, sometimes he is more sorry about that he said something rather than what he said.

  2. I think he's just sorry because he got caught. He was having fun, joking around, and let his guard down. When you're the President of the United States you can't afford to do that. Unfortunately a lot of the attention is being turned in a negative way to the people that are upset- we apparently are just WAY TOO SENSITIVE. And the President has more important things to deal with than hurt feelings. He should have thought of that before he said it.

  3. to be honest, I think it provides a great opportunity. can you imagine some special olympians vs. obama? I think he would have the humility to do it and the olympians would get a chance to show how skilled they are.

btw, I have a down syndrome child, too.

also, I think we should practice forgiveness. Until you have a special needs child of your own, you don't fully understand what it's like, am I right? He didn't offend me at all. He's human and so are we. I don't think he's sorry he "got caught" I think we should all get a grip!

  4. Sorry, guess we will have to agree to disagee. Our President clearly has terrific speech writers. If he does not think before he speaks off the cuff that is a problem. He has the ability to sway people's opinions. As a mom to a child who happens to have Down syndrome, I say he needs to use his power for good and consider the power of his words.
