The Parisian Project

I'm re-decorating the girl's room.  I've decided to go with a Paris theme, which I've always really loved.  But first, I had to paint their walls a new color.  They were two different shades of purple before, so I painted over that with a pale pink using flat paint.  I was mid-way through the painting when I thought..."why am I doing this again?"  I mean, it's not like I have all the time in the world to work on projects of this size!  But...I finished it over a two-weekend time frame (the girls had a blast sleeping in the loft rather than their room on the last night of painting!)
So then I moved on to the next step...I taped the walls off in stripes, and painted every other stripe with a high gloss poly.  This turned out even better than I had hoped!  So that's the progress so far, I only have half of the walls glossed, but I couldn't resist putting in the new bedding!  More pics to come...stay tuned!

  2. Very Cool Jill! I'm going to paint Amelia's room soon. She still has the colors from her baby room. I'm all about pink...all the time! I'm going to paint her room pink w/some brown. Make sure to post when your done. Mine will probably get done in about 6 months:)

  3. Okay, I finally figured out how to comment...geesh you'd think I was OLD!
Anyway, what a great idea. I LOVE the alternating flat/glossy stripes - so subtle, but cool! When I'm ready to change Lauren's room to a "big girl" room, are you up for helping me paint again? I promise I will offer more than just Krispy Kremes this time...how about dinner? Can't wait to see it on Friday!
